If you love happy hour and trying new beverages you're going to love hanging with me for Happy Hour with Hannah! A couple fridays each month we get to taste a beverage from Otto's Wine & Spirits.
This week's featured beverage is the 2014 Michael David "Freakshow" Cabernet Sauvignon. It received great press from Wine Enthusiast. Rich, ripe and oaky, this full-bodied wine has loads of sweet blackberry and black cherry flavors, with generous doses of oak spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, wood smoke and dark chocolate. It's bold but complex and will be a lot of fun to drink with red meat! It's a great deal for wine under $15!
Michael and David Phillips represent the fifth generation of growers in Lodi, and things are changing. With 500 acres of premium wine grapes, there is plenty of room for experimentation and innovation. Though not certified organic, Michael~David Winery strives to use all natural methods including integrated pest management, beneficial insects for pest control, trellising, leaf pulling and natural mined sulfur for mildew control. They are six generations of winegrowers specializing in hand-crafted wines.
Don't forget to join us for the next Happy Hour with Hannah. Friday, May 5th we'll be live on 95.7 BIG FM Facebook around 4:30pm. I can't wait to see what Otto's Wine & Spirits has in store for us to try!
