I don't know about you but I've been getting a lot more of those robocalls lately. Whether it's some crazy number calling and I ignore it or I answer and it's a recording, they are all annoying and scary because who knows what trap you're being brought into!
According to the Federal Communications Commission, there are nearly 2.4 billion robocalls made each month. That's more than 7 calls per person, according to new research from the YouMail Robocall index.
Here are a few simple steps you can take to reduce or in an ideal world stop the robocalls altogether from msn.com
- Google your own smartphone number - try it! I googled mine and it did come up and even showed my address. That's scary as I've never posted it on social media, etc. So that's how it all begins...
- Add your number to Do Not Call lists - if you haven't done this yet you need to! I'm sure it can't fix the problem 100% but it should reduce the amount of calls you are getting
- Blocking calls & texts - click here for instructions on how to block numbers for both iPhones and Androids
- Bring in the big guns - try out these apps: Nomorobo or Truecaller. Read more on these here.
