The Milwaukee a la Carte at the Zoo, presented by Meijer, runs from August 15 through August 18. The festival is open from 9am - 10pm Thursday through Saturday, and 9am - 8pm on Sunday. Join the Street Team at Zoo a la Carte for a chance to play our Zooscursion around the zoo for prizes!

Trendy music, lots of food options, and animals galore—what a wild weekend! The Milwaukee a la Carte at the Zoo presented by Meijer brings to life your wildest food cravings, August 15 through August 18, featuring 27 area restaurants. Don’t come just for the food, stay for the musical performances from national and local bands throughout the Zoo! (Click here for the full lineup)

Get to the Zoo early, as there are no reserved seats at the festival. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to spread out in the grassy areas; picnic tables fill-up quickly! Take your a la Carte experience to the next level by visiting your favorite animals or Zoo ride. Food tickets, special attractions, and Zoo rides can be purchased for an additional charge.


CREATE! Crafty kids can show their artistic side with Kohl’s Color Wheels, a mobile art experience!

RELAX! Enjoy a glass of wine, while listening to local bands at the Giraffe Village Wine Tent, sponsored by Champion Windows & Sunrooms.

DISCOVER! Visit the greatest exhibit ever assembled! Brick Dinos, sponsored by Sendik’s Food Markets, includes interactive LEGO® play-scapes and more! Admission is $3 per person.


Besides the music, food, and special attractions, there are also lots of new animals now on exhibit. The Zoo has welcomed two ostrich and three guineafowl to Adventure Africa. There have also been a few recent births, including a baby Japanese macaque, whooping crane, and cape thick-knee shorebird. All three babies should be viewable for visitors, plus more!
