Oz Turns 80

When I was a kid, two movies always inspired my imagination. The first was Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory and the other is Celebrating it's 80s birthday today, Judy Garland in The Wizard Of Oz! It's widely considered to be one of the best films in the history of cinema.It was one of the first films to use a new technology called Technicolor and was nominated for six academy awards. It lost "best picture" that year to Gone With The Wind.

It's 1939 filming budget was, which translates to about 41 million in today cash!
