Corinne Olympios Lawyer: 'Bachelor In Paradise' Investigation Will Continue

Corinne Olympios’ lawyer, Martin Singer, released a statement Tuesday insisting his team will continue to investigate an alleged sexual assault against his client during the filming of “Bachelor In Paradise,” despite Warner Bros. finding no evidence of misconduct.

As Gossip Cop reported, Warner Bros. shut down production of the ABC reality show earlier this month after crew members reported possible sexual “misconduct” involving Olympios and fellow cast member DeMario Jackson. The two reportedly had a drunken hookup in a pool in Mexico, but questions were raised about whether Olympios gave consent.

Sources close to the reality star say she was too intoxicated to consent to sexual activity, but Jackson’s camp maintain she was coherent and willingly participated. Warner Bros. opened an internal investigation into the incident following the accusations, but the production company announced on Tuesday it found no evidence of misconduct occurring on set, and season four of “Bachelor in Paradise” will now resume filming. Warner Bros. will not release footage of the encounter in the pool, but said “the tape does not support any charge of misconduct by a cast member. Nor does the tape show, contrary to many press reports, that the safety of any cast member was ever in jeopardy.”

Olympios’ legal team, however, isn’t satisfied. Her lawyer tells Gossip Cop, “It needs to be made crystal clear that production of ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ was shut down because of multiple complaints received from ‘BIP’ producers and crew members on the set. It was not shut down due to any complaint filed by Corinne against anyone.” Singer added, “It comes as no surprise that Warner Bros., as a result of its own internal investigation, would state that no wrongdoing had occurred. Our own investigation will continue based on multiple new witnesses coming forward revealing what they saw and heard.”

While Olmypios has not commented, presumably she will not rejoin “Bachelor In Paradise.” It also remains to be seen whether she will file a civil lawsuit. Shortly after shooting was suspended, Olympias issued a statement through her lawyer in which she called the encounter her “worst nightmare,” and expressed, “I am a victim.” The reality star further stated she hired “an attorney to obtain justice” and is “seeking therapy” to deal with the “physical and emotional trauma” she suffered from the alleged incident.
